About Ingrid
Ever since I can remember, cooking good food, entertaining friends and hosting great parties has been a passion and hobby of mine with the hope and dream of one day owning my own cafe. I got to know and love Pawtuxet Village when I got my first apartment on Narragansett Blvd. I like to run, and on many days I would run the streets of the village admiring the homes and the vistas, and enjoying the friendliness of the people. I have many great memories of time spent in the village with my daughters (who now help run the cafe) enjoying the many activities and making new memories. I reconnected with the Village this past year when I discovered the Water's Edge Café. I would often stop there for a tea after kayaking on the Bay.
I would sit there daydreaming of owning a place of my own just like this. It was during one of those times that the opportunity to purchase the business presented itself, and I knew that it was meant to be. I saw the chance to fulfill my dream and do what I really desired …to open and run my own cafe. At the time I was running my own event planning and catering business so I thought it would be great to combine the two. I feel so at home with the wonderful people who frequent my shop and the warmth and acceptance of all of the Village vendors.
A couple of years ago I visited Santa Barbara, California, and was captivated by the charm of the unique little cafes and bistros I visited. Their ambience was inspiring, and as soon as I purchased the Water's Edge, I knew the same concept would be a great fit for my Pawtuxet Village cafe.
So inspired by the charm of Santa Barbara, I am transforming the café into a cozy, welcoming eatery that provides great homemade breakfast and lunch fare. In the evenings our café turns into a comfortable, romantic, relaxed venue that can host a variety of events, from private catered parties, to "Tapas evenings" that are B.Y.O.B and open to the public. I am so grateful that I get to cook great food, entertain good friends, and host great events!
